Applied AI Systems Lead — Remote
Applied AI Systems Lead — Remote
Klett Schoolwide Publishing is seeking a hands-on Applied AI Systems Lead to help modernize our product development, editorial, marketing, sales, and customer success workflows through practical AI systems.
KSP has more than 30 years of experience in educational publishing, curriculum, literacy, language development, professional learning, and customer support. Our team has the content, instructional, and market expertise. We are looking for someone who can help us convert that expertise into repeatable AI-enabled workflows, automations, knowledge systems, and internal tools.
This is our first dedicated applied AI systems role. It is not a senior Director/Head of AI position. It is a growth role for a technically fluent, highly capable builder/operator who has already built practical AI workflows and wants to grow into broader responsibility.
What You’ll Do
You will help KSP build practical AI-enabled systems across the business, including:
- AI-assisted editorial and product development workflows
- Multi-step or agentic workflows for content adaptation, scaffold generation, review, and production support
- RAG/source-grounded workflows using approved KSP materials
- Document ingestion, content organization, vectorization/embeddings, and searchable knowledge assets
- Virtual focus groups and stakeholder simulations to validate product ideas
- AI-assisted marketing workflows for messaging, campaigns, and product positioning
- AI-assisted sales workflows for lead research, outreach, follow-up, proposal support, and meeting preparation
- Customer success workflows for implementation support, communications, and internal knowledge tools
- Prompt libraries, workflow libraries, documentation, training, and practical governance
What We’re Looking For

Strong candidates will have experience with some of the following:
- Agentic or multi-step AI workflows
- RAG/source-grounded AI
- Document ingestion
- Vector search, embeddings, chunking, or retrieval workflows
- APIs, webhooks, structured data, or lightweight scripting
- Automation tools such as n8n, Make, Zapier, Airtable, HubSpot, Salesforce, Google Workspace, or similar platforms
- AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, OpenAI APIs, or comparable tools
- Product operations, marketing operations, sales operations, customer success operations, instructional technology, edtech, publishing, or SaaS workflows
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience using AI, automation, business systems, product operations, marketing operations, sales operations, instructional technology, digital publishing, customer success systems, or related workflows
- Demonstrated experience building practical AI-assisted workflows for real business tasks
- Ability to build, test, troubleshoot, and improve AI-enabled prototypes or workflows
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with nontechnical subject-matter experts
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Good judgment around privacy, confidentiality, quality, and human review
Compensation and Location
- Salary range: $80,000–$90,000
- Remote role
- Full-time preferred
- Optional performance bonus may be considered based on successful workflow implementation
