HIDENN-AI

CAE/FEA Simulation Engineer

Evanston, IL, USA Hybrid Full Time
Compensation: $90,000 to $135,000 Annually
Equity, Safe Harbor 401(k), and $600/$1,200 monthly wellness benefits.

The Role

We're looking for a computer-aided engineering (CAE)/Simulation Engineer to join our team and work directly on the simulation side of our platform. You will work with our proprietary AI-based computational tools and help integrate them into industry-standard simulation environments.

You'll collaborate closely with our engineering team, contribute to real workflows, and help bridge the gap between our AI models and what customers actually use in production. If you have solid CAE experience, enjoy working across multiple simulation tools, and are excited by the challenge of applying AI to engineering problems, this role is a strong fit.

What You'll Do

  • Implement HIDENN-AI models into industry-standard simulation software (e.g. converting our models into User Element Subroutines in Abaqus)
  • Work across CAD/CAE tools including Solidworks, NX, HyperMesh, Abaqus, and Ansys to set up, run, and validate simulations
  • Write scripts and macros within CAE tools to automate and streamline simulation workflows
  • Perform post-processing, interpret simulation results, and collaborate with our engineering team to refine and validate outputs for verification and validation
  • Help identify opportunities to improve our simulation workflows as the product evolves

What We're Looking For

  • BS with industry experience, MS with industry experience, or PhD
  • 3+ years of industry experience in CAE/engineering simulation
  • Strong understanding of finite element analysis (FEA) fundamentals
  • Hands-on experience with commercial finite element solvers (including Abaqus, Ansys, LS-DYNA, Nastran) and post-processing workflows
  • Experience writing user subroutines in simulation software
  • Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., Solidworks, NX, AutoCAD) for geometry and model preparation
  • Ability to write scripts and macros within CAE tools (e.g., Abaqus Python script, Ansys PyMAPDL) to automate workflows (not general software development)
  • Strong organizational skills to track and attribute work clearly across tasks
  • Excited and comfortable working in a fast-moving, early-stage startup environment

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with Python, C++, or Fortran programming beyond CAE tool macros
  • Familiarity with AI/ML-assisted simulation or surrogate modeling workflows
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or other high-fidelity simulation industries
  • Exposure to additional CAE or multiphysics tools beyond the must-haves
  • Experience working at an early-stage or research-driven company

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $90,000 to $135,000 depending on experience and fit
  • Equity included, with a standard 4-year vest and 1-year cliff
  • Wellness stipend: $600/month (individual) or $1,200/month (family)
  • 401(k) with Safe Harbor matching
