Background
Most of my pertinent experience involves many years of representing the Greater Detroit Resource Recovery Authority (GDRRA) as contractual Consulting Engineer at its 3,200 ton-per-day refuse-derived fuel (RDF)-to-energy plant. Critical applicable duties include the management of a select consulting team which, in part, assessed process steam and electricity generation, export, usage, and demand; the monitoring of daily operations at the process building, power block, and process steamline; the involvement in the scheduling of major plant events, such as cold iron and turbine maintenance outages, to maximize energy export revenues; the development of budget projections, which included the growth of process steam and electricity export revenues, and the minimization of electricity demand and usage expenditures; and the implementation of proper procedures with the Public Service Commission for the issuance pertinent renewable energy credits; among many others. I have also been directly involved in the development of a usage and expenditures baseline for the City’s Energy Task Force, chaired by the Director of GDRRA, and I have conducted operational and financial feasibility assessments at RDF and coal-fired cogeneration facilities in Clinton Township MI, Bakersfield CA, and Rochester MA.
