Job experience

  • January 2013 - present
    Research Assistant
    Stony Brook University
    Stony Brook, NY, USA

    • Theoretically and mathematically modeled systems of experimental interest: used a combination of analytic and numerical techniques
    • Designed and carry out experiments in ultracold atomic physics for the study of fundamental quantum science: operate complex experimental apparatus, acquire data from CCD camera images (~800 per day), analyze images and extract results, fit data using nonlinear regression and statistics
    • Presented experimental results in peer-reviewed papers (see publications) and conferences (poster and oral presentations), create high quality vector graphics images for data presentation
    • Led a team of graduate students which resulted in several experimental publications

  • August 2012 - May 2013
    Teaching Assistant
    Stony Brook University
    Stony Brook, NY, USA

    • Taught introductory physics laboratory courses to undergraduate students (~60 students per semester), provided experience with laboratory methods in electricity and magnetism (Stony Brook University Physics 134), lectured about theory relevant to laboratory experiments
    • Graded lab reports, provided feedback and identified areas for student improvement, taught and engaged students with the scientific method and physics
    • Proctored exams for corresponding lecture courses

Education
