Background

Recently graduated from the MPA program at Wayne State University and previously interned as a policy researcher at the Citizens Research Council. Last year, I worked as an assistant grant writer in Wayne State’s Humanity Center. In 2016, I served as an intern for Dr. Anil Kumar’s congressional campaign in Michigan’s 11th district. I am detail oriented, dedicated, punctual, and enjoy working with others. I am preparing to start a career working for local governments, state governments, or non-profits. When not working I enjoy volunteering with local charities and organizations to give back to my community.

In 2016 I worked on the campaign for Dr. Anil Kumar for U.S. Congress in Michigan’s 11th District. I joined his campaign effort to gain more direct experience in the political process and to become involved in helping a candidate that I believe will do more for his community than the incumbent. I’ve asked people to sign petitions to put the candidate on the ballot, called potential volunteers to ask them if they would like to attend upcoming meetings where they could meet the candidate, updated spreadsheets with information about potential donors and volunteers, and took down statistics of other candidates that won this district in U.S. Senate races and U.S. House races to see which precincts and areas the campaign should target and focus on, and stuffed mailers into envelopes for potential donors and volunteers.
