    Job experience

    • March 2018 - present
      CFD Engineer
      Saft America Inc
      Jacksonville, FL, USA

      • Led the design of the cooling system for a 20 kWh air cooled lithium ion battery pack consisting of pouch cells.
      • Led the design of the cooling system for a 2.5 MWh energy storage system used in grid applications.
      • Saved over $250K in prototype build and testing thru detailed thermal simulations.
      • Reduced the temperature of cells in the energy storage system by 30% thru optimization of baffles and fans placement in the container.
      • Developed Matlab models for NFPA68 gas venting valve for explosion prevention.
      • Developed mathematical models with multivariate linear regression for correlating test data with CFD simulations.

    • March 2013 - March 2018
      CAE Engineer
      Ford Motor Company
      Livonia, MI, USA

      • Developed a novel method of using a series of 3D CFD simulation data as a table in 1D system models to accurately predicting control system performance prior to hardware tests saving $12 per transmission
      • Designed a patent pending nozzle thru CFD simulations saving $1.5M in tool changes by allowing usage on multiple transmission designs.
      • Reduced analysis turnaround time by over 50% by developing user friendly Java GUI modules to automate CFD tasks.
      • Led the effort to co-ordinate with software vendor Gamma Technologies to evaluate and introduce GT-Suite at Ford Transmissions for system modeling of transmission clutch systems and variable displacement vane pumps.
      • Trained and mentored 5 new college graduates in the field of CFD simulations.
