    Job experience

    • December 2019 - December 2020
      Secretary
Pi Kappa Phi - Alpha Kappa Chapter
      Ann Arbor, MI, USA

As secretary I was heavily involved in the day-to-day operations of the fraternity along with taking part in projects to better the chapter. I spearheaded the planning of renovations for my fraternity’s chapter house. By hosting chapter events, social events, charity events, and eating dinner in the same room our members felt restricted in their own home. I worked with the national organization and fellow council members to plan the whole project including budgeting and planning construction. The renovations created a new study and common space, a home gym, and opened up the dining area to allow for all brothers to eat together. It helped to open up the layout of the house and provide all members with a true sense home as well as more space to be productive students. This opportunity allowed me to advance my ability to work in a team, understand people and their extended networks, and problem solve.

    • May 2019 - August 2019
      Intern
      Brandgenuity
      New York, NY, USA

I created presentations for expanding the brands of current clients. These presentations were aimed at identifying key branding opportunities for respective clients. The goal was to find new routes where the brand could generate more revenue. I also collaborated in brainstorming sessions to develop marketing for new products for respective clients. In addition to these responsibilities I was also tasked with directing outreach to potential new clients. I reached out to prospective licensees and matched them up with the best fitting client.

    • May 2018 - August 2018
      Intern
      DKC
      New York, NY, USA

My main project over the course of the internship was to create a mock public relations plan for a client which included the use of influencers and advertisement strategies that I picked up on during my time at the firm. The goal was to take the assigned client and create an innovative PR plan to reinvigorate the brand. I had a plethora of resources available to me. This project gave me the opportunity to experience what it's like to do substantial work in the field of public relations. Other tasks I was assigned include designing social media advertisements and compiling a comprehensive database of social media influencers.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and many internships being cancelled as a result, the PR Council created a program to mentor soon to be graduates and those looking to advance their careers in the world of PR. Each course was an in depth look at a different sector of public relations and underscored the importance of having a diverse skill set that seamlessly transitions between all facets of PR. Also included inspirational chats with industry leaders. The chats highlighted the multifaceted outlook of public relations firms. My experiences taught me that my well-rounded education and diverse work background prepares me to excel in any department.
