Background
Recently minted PhD in Higher Education (Academic Affairs and Student Development Track), with special interests in educational or faculty development and academic and career development/counseling positions in college/university settings. I am also interested in outreach and engagement activities especially around STEM and Arts education and relationship-building between university and community. Moreover, I enjoy teaching Psychology (Introductory), Academic and Psychosocial Skills for Transition to College, and Career Development. Experiences throughout the doctoral journey: teaching assistant x 4 for Introduction to Psychology; teaching assistant x2 for Developmental Psychology; course instructor for a first-year seminar, focused on academic and psychosocial readiness for college (summer bridge program) x2; three years of experience as a graduate student instructional consultant; engagement in qualitative and quantitative research including program evaluation of a learning community that provides academic and social support to STEM undergraduates. Experience in a college/university setting: almost seven years as a career counselor and student services practitioner in a university setting in which I engaged in career counseling; development and facilitation of programs for personal, academic, and career enrichment; support to/collaboration with residence life for program delivery; co-development/facilitation of first-year experience programs.
