Background

After completing my doctorate at the University of Michigan (with a focus on communication/media studies and political science/election behavior), I've worked as a professor at Georgia State University in Atlanta (aka, "the center of the political universe"). With extensive experience in higher education, including instructional design in online, hybrid, and face-to-face settings, I've taught over 5000 undergraduate, graduate and honors students in classes including research methods, statistics, digital and social media, strategic communication, political campaigns, public opinion, and election behavior. I'm always happy to share my experiences with others and am particularly drawn to roles, individuals, and organizations that bridge the "theory-practice" divide to connect academia with the public at large. I welcome new opportunities to work within educational environments that have a commitment to community, civic engagement, and student success.
