Julia Henrikson
Adaptive Nonprofit Professional Seeking Opportunities in Development or Communications
Designer at People Rocket
Background
With a strong foundation in equity-centered strategic planning and program management, I bring a wealth of experience in communications, grant and proposal writing, and relationship building. My foundational learnings have all been in the nonprofit space, including volunteer management, policy communications, and community organizing. I spent the past two years working for a small management consulting firm, honing my strategic planning and business development skills. Using my research background, I guided over ten nonprofits through the strategic planning process, emphasizing evidence-based and equity-centered interventions. On the business development side, I researched, vetted, and wrote proposals, with a strong track record of securing interviews with prospective clients. I also wrote and edited brand and research content, including articles, case studies, and staff briefings. Eager to apply my skills at a mission-aligned nonprofit, I aim to transition into development to support fundraising efforts and donor engagement. I'm also interested in communications strategy positions, leveraging my skills to strengthen community outreach and effectively communicate impactful stories to stakeholders and donors.
