Elana Abramovitz
Recent Neuroscience Graduate
AI Writing Evaluator at Outlier
Background
I am a recent graduate of the University of Michigan, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience and a minor in Medical Anthropology. I am eagerly seeking full time employment in the healthcare and life sciences sector. As a member of American Cancer Society - Cancer Action Network I contributed to project oversight as well as contributing to the creation of articles aimed at informing ACS donors of advancements being made in the field of cancer research. Each article explained the technical research being done at Michigan Medicine in an accessible manner and outlined the necessity of continued funding for cancer research to advance cancer care. I also helped structure the project timeline from outreach to researchers all the way through the final publication of articles. I further developed my communication skills as a physics tutor at University of Michigan's Science Learning Center. This role required me to retain the physics material and also to be in constant communication with my group members, to coordinate meetings and discuss course content. Following my graduation, I used these skills to become an independent STEM tutor for students in my neighborhood. These two experiences have taught me the strength of collaboration within an organization as well as self-advocacy as an independent entity. I am excited to explore opportunities where I can be a part of a team and bring my self-starter attitude.
