Background

I am a University of Michigan graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in biology and minors in biophysics and moral and political philosophy. I am currently pursuing jobs in medical or public health research. I have over two years of experience in academic lab settings, preparing specimens, gram staining, setting up and growing cultures, preparing reagents and solutions, collecting and organizing data. I am familiar with basic lab safety standards. I have had the unique experience of being able to work directly with model organisms and contribute to colon cancer research at the University of Michigan in a genetics lab setting. In addition to academic experience at U of M, I have over one year experience in patient care as an inpatient nurse assistant at Corewell William Beaumont Hospital. This experience has allowed me to develop skills in maintaining meticulous records and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements including upholding the safety and ethical care standards of OSHA, JCAHO, and HIPPA. I am proficient in applications such as Epic, R studio, Word, Excel, and MiChart, for recording, organizing, and visualizing large amounts of data.
